We are deeply concerned about the epidemic of addiction that has caused so many mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brother, sisters and families to lose their loved ones. But our personal experiences with substance use disorder go much deeper, and we want to make sure that no one ever faces these obstacles alone. Please take a moment to read our story and consider having us at your school/facility to speak about the dangers of addiction, and how they can cope if they or a loved one are struggling with substance abuse.
We believe it’s important that we continue to share our experiences with others so that no one feels alone if they are dealing with substance use disorder (SUD). We approach addiction education from a family perspective. Meaning, that it’s not only focused on the person with SUD, but the family as well. It’s important to understand that substance use disorder is not just about helping the person get the help they need. It’s about healing the entire family unit, and reinforcing that there’s hope for everyone – no matter how dark it looks. We hope that in sharing our journey, we can help others overcome some of the challenges we have faced over the past years. We are overcoming addiction, together, every day.
